I always do, but do you have a specific reason against that bike?

Hard tail checking in. Fuji Nevada 1.1 27.5. Haven't rode in a while due to 2016 sucking so bad, but wanna get back out there soon. Got 2 other friends I ride with most of the time. Ride Walnut a ton cuz it's right behind my buddies house, Pace Bend, Muleshoe, and a couple random other places. I'd say Pace Bend is my favorite so far. Probably rate myself somewhere around an intermediate rider, definitely not a pro but I'll try just about any black diamond because if I dies, I dies. Some "black diamonds" are bullshit and others will have you puking, so I don't know there's a lot of consistency there. So uhhh yeah. There's that. Bike stuff.

I tried the road thing and couldn't get into it. Got bored, felt like my junk was going to die from no blood, and feared for my life at any given moment. I ended up selling my Felt F90 and throwing the money at my MTB. I actually see a lot of people on trails with shin guards, I just haven't got my leg chewed up enough to do it myself. They say if you haven't taken a tumble, you aren't going hard enough. ;)

I'm down to ride, I got a Ibex Atlas Pro and my brother has a Santa Cruz full suspension bike.

    My bike -
    Full suspension, 26 lbs
    5 inch travel mantiou shocks
    Juicy 7 brakes
    Maxxis Ardent race tires
    Scram x9 rapid-fire shifter

    Perfect for aggressive cross country.

I have rode Northshore to Twin cove a couple times. Awesome trails and a couple challenging parts on the trails too. River legacy is also a good bike trail.

Me, but I'm fat and slow and hate double-boinger bikes. I actually just built my first MTB with a suspension fork a few months ago...

Everyone has their preferences. My body has been too beat up over the years to ride a rigid and get any mileage out of it. Im actually the fastest on a rigid 26-er.

I used to hate full suspension bikes until I rode a good one. Now I won't go back to hardtail.

I'm in as well. I have an embarrassing amount of bikes. My recommendation is to build it. The factory trash will let you down and it's so easy a cave man could do it.

Recently I built up 2 Canfield brothers, slack HA, hardtails. One is a SS and the other geared.

I have a couple FS rigs that I rode in GA, but TX doesn't have trails that are aggressive enough for them.

We should have a meet. Dinosaur Valley is great. Boulder Park is a great SS trail.

Are you in Dallas or FTW?

Im in Lewisville. ABout 8 miles from northshore. Ive had a few factory bikes and never had one let me down. I never got rid of the garbage fork on my giant though, only regret.

NS is a pretty much the DFW staple....great riding, though I haven't been in a year or so. I'm out West in Aledo.

My experience with the factory bikes has been a little different. For instance, the wheelsets are usually house brand and last about a year. I replaced them with a good Mavic or DT Swiss set of hoops with King hubs and they've lasted 8 years with zero issues.

But, I'm old and fat now so I bet a factory set up would last me forever now.

Most of the trails around here (Va. WVa. line) pretty much require fs. Lots and lots of rock and some pretty big drops. Riding a hard tail on the downhills will beat you to pieces and after a few good ones hairline fractures on the frame would be a real concern.

Although steep grades and technical is fun, after a while it would be nice to have some good hardpacked trails with nice flow to them.

" Yes, the NE have trails that are better with FS. But, Hardtails with slack headtube are pretty good for downhill runs. I like em.

I've ben riding MTBs for years in the NE. Started full rigid then suspension fork, and onto to full suspension xc and downhill bikes. A few years ago I got a hard tail fat bike to extend the riding season into the winter it is so much fun I ride it all year now. The tires roll over everything and the low air pressure absorbs most of the ruff trails. also great for loose sandy trails.
