So, are the bugs out of the 17 models? Or are they (as some say) a Turdgen

I would have to think that the maker of Lexus, one of the most reliable and innovative brands, wouldn't all of a sudden start making junk cars. I would have to believe that the Lexus technology trickles down to the other models over time.

2000 miles on my 2017 with no problems. Its a truck and I dont expect it to be a Mercedes sedan though.

You can buy some Mercedes sedans for about the same as some Tacoma trims. I don't get this comparison. Kind of a cop out if you ask me.

If you buy a $15,000 Kia you should expect not to have issues, I don't get the comparison either.

Yeah at least some of the problems we've had on the 3rd gen is not something you'd expect to see on a $15k kia for about 50k to 60k miles

Truck is tight. Not enough insulation/undercoating. Engine trans (auto v6) takes some getting used to.(actually trans sucks) Wind noise at delivery was unacceptable but I fixed that, Radio sucks - can't return txt msg with iPhone only samsung, gas mileage is fair (20 average). Stuff slides all over the plastic bed, oil filter takes a special wrench, But all in all I like it.

Get the bed mat for the bed. It's a worthy expenditure

Every vehicle has issues. Regardless of make/model or pricepoint.
Especially the first year of a new generation.

That being said I've had no issues so far. Completely happy.

Actually, when I sold my Tundra, I kept the mat, made a cardboard template and cut it for the taco. Looks factory, toyota logo and all.

I have three friends at work that own 2016 TRD OR's and they really like their trucks. They are not on this forum and do not plan on making any modifications that I am aware of. The only thing that they have complained about is the lack of power seats.
Just wondering if any of you guys ever look at any of the competitor's forums just to see what they are complaining about? You realize that guys on forums tend to nit pick about their cars more so than the rest of the world. Imagine if Toyota engineers actually read our forums and made changes based the majority of the issues we were complaining about. They could probably design the perfect truck for us.

Some people love them some people hate them. Some people just want to feel wanted. I'm not sure what some people want.

    I love my '16.

I picked up my 2017 Trd OR DCSB 4x2 in September...I have 13,000 miles so far..Avg 20-22 mpg....I initially had a noise from the right front passenger side..The dealer determined that a bushing between the frame and body had to be replaced..Since the repair I have had no other issues...The truck is quiet and have been very satisfied ..I have picked up a lot pointers from this forum ...I came from a 2nd gen trd or with 300,000....
