4x2 off road double cab

Just curious, what is the demographic for the DCSB OR 4x2? My dealer has 18 of these in inventory.

Out of the 100 trucks, 19 are DCSB OR. 1 is 4x4 and 18 are 4x2

I know I live in a 4x2 climate. Out of the 100 trucks, only 14 are 4x4. Which makes sense. However, the other 4x4 are SR5 (7), SR (1), Limited (3) , Sport (2).


I was amazed to see they FINALLY brought a DCSB SR V6 4x4 $32,000. Locally they never bring this truck.


Any owners here have a OR 4x2, if so what was the reason for buying that?

 

Cus the stickers that say off-road are great for picking up chicks

 

That's what I drive....didn't need full on 4x4 but the little added insurance is nice...

I put a lot miles on a truck so I avoided the 4x4... Need to get at least 20 mpg... Already have 13,000 on my 17 TRD OR DCSB

 

Right makes sense on the MPG thing.

I guess I was wondering what did the SR5/Sport didn't have that you opted for the OR? I am just curious. Usually OR are bought by 4x4 guys no? Or does it have anything that helps in the offroad? ( I don't know).

To be honest I would have been fine in an SR5. I didnt like the hood scoop so Sport is out. I test drove the one I bought and liked it. I knew I didn't need 4wd, and honestly didn't know much about the TRD Off Road model at the time aside from liking the seats, only really found out afterwards what "extras" it had

In the current model are there extras you get in OR 4x2 that you don't in the sr5/sport? (Not talking about fender flares)

 

I have a 17 OR DCSB and I get 20mpg city. So I don't see how having 2wheel drive or 4wheel drive makes a difference.

 

I don't know about 3rd Gen.....2nd gen gets the locker, "better" shocks, bed outlet, towing package in my case...

I owned 4x4 OR and 4x4 Pro so I know all about the 4x4 differences

I actually was looking at new tundra at my dealer when I saw ALL this OR 4x2 inventory

i thought the Trd OR gave me the most bang for the buck..The suspension is tuned andv is equipped with bilstien shocks..I also do a lot of towing...Where as a sport has a hood scoop that is just for show...i also liked the black fender flares on OR

 

Is yours DC or AC?

 

Ya, it doesn't seem logical for an off road 4x2. Sport, SR models or even limited I get, but not the OR

It just doesn't make sense to me, to you it obviously does. Just like buying the sport doesn't make sense to some, but me it did.

A locker on a RWD truck can be pretty good, most 4x4 trucks only put power down to 2 wheels anyways.

Also lots of people like the rugged truck on gravel roads, logging roads etc.

I'd love a 2WD simple pick up, but we need 4x4 to enjoy winter up here.

I just bought a TRD OR 4x4 crewmax in Quicksand

Only has 200 miles on it, but it's a heck of a truck so far!
