Headlight suggestions? 2nd gen

Hey looking for some headlights for my mag gray 2nd gen. My others got busted. Id like to see some pics of different headlight on the magnetic gray 2nd gen. Im in college and not trying to spend a million dollars either. Can anyone tell me what kind of headlights are in the photo i posted in this thread?

Yessir but have to heat headlight in an oven and pull them apart. Paint them and put them back together

 

Or just buy TRD pro headlights.

 

Would it be possible to paint all the chrome inside the headlight and not just the housing. Im talking about the chrome bowl. I've been looking for picture etc. but I can't find any.

 

That would require you to install projector lenses and this is called a retrofit. (Not Cheap) There are a few threads where people have done them themselves and also do them as a service. A good professionally done retrofit will run you about $1000.00. That why I said they were not cheap.

 

I say, if you're going to open up your headlights, just paint the bezel satin black or even paint match it MGM and then smoke out the reflectors.

I would check out the retrofit source and see if you might want to go install some projectors. I did this with mine, and honestly you can get a nice kit for like $150, they also have butyl rubber inserts for sealing it up when you are done. My recommendation if you want to do this is heat them up at 240 degrees in the oven for 20 min or 260 at 8 minutes and that should soften up the rubber. I know it sounds pretty scary to toast your stuff, but at 240 degrees, its not hot enough to cook anything. Also, you could just open them and then paint them for now if you wanted although I would open and put projectors all in one go. I have a write up for the vip moto z ones that I did.

are you going to retrofit? Not sure if the OEM lights would work with a painted reflective bowl.

 

If he plans to use the halogen lights still then yes he would need to keep the bowl chrome so the mirror affect of it would still work. If he decided to install projectors then he could paint the bowl and everything else black as the projector would be the sole light source.

Plan was to retrofit but I got a good deal on Trd Pro headlights and decided not to.

 

I have Trd pro headlights and Philip Led bulbs now.

 

What's the difference?

 

You don't have to split them and paint them yourself. They're already black.

 

Completely pointless. You won't be able to see anything at night
