If ww put the faucet under the bar it can never be removed and replaced, without lifting the entire top bar off the supports.

How do you guys securely store your power tools? Ive been aquiring some Dewalt stuff for a little bit and I need to organize/lock them all up. Currently we live in a neighborhood I don't trust and I actually had a drill and recip saw stolen out of my garage in broad daylight not too long ago. Wanting to find/build something where I can leave the tools in the plastic cases and lock them up. Any ideas?

I'd suggest a perimeter of claymore mines. Should discourage would be thieves.

In all seriousness, I'd get something like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Gladiato...-Cabinet-in-Silver-Tread-GALG36CKXG/204238978

Unless your thieves pull up and roll that bitch into a truck they should prevent snatch and dash kinda situations.

Mines may work. Its a pain in the ass to figure out how to lock stuff up when stuff gets stolen at 2pm on a Sunday while youre working outside. I would probably want to bolt that thing to the wall. Do you have one of these to know if the lock is any good?

I don't but one of my buddies has cabinets similar to that and the locks are your basic barrel type with the sheet metal arm on the other side. It is by no means foolproof if someone comes prepared with tools. Another option is to install your own hardware on the doors that can be padlocked.

You can also get one that's not on casters if you are worried about it getting rolled away. It would certainly be a bit unwieldy and harder to move that way.

I guess my tool chest is on wheels and not bolted down and they didn't steal that.

    lol

Having redone my kitchen and then reflooring half the house I can attest that if you can get through a remodel working together without divorce you are doing pretty well.

My wife and I moved into a 250 sqft shed on our property with no inside toilet for 2 years while we built our house

We bought this bungalow for cash in October(?), there were a lot of unknowns, no water or power at time of purchase... We don't have a 'tight budget' but we are trying to keep our costs down because there is a price ceiling in this neighborhood. We are trying to keep the bungalow feel and continuity between designs.

    1926/8 construction Bungalow 'light'
    • Bungalow light had 2 bedrooms on main floor
    • Bathroom access ONLY through either of the bedrooms
    • Dining-room has a oak built in china cabinet (missing leaded glass doors)
    • No fireplace or built-in's in the living-room
    • Kitchen has a Pine/spruce/plywood built-in pantry
    • Full block basement
    • Full attic with previously added bedroom
    • Full attic includes West wall dormer over dining-room bump-out
    • ~900sq-ft
The kitchen is 9'x12' with 4 doors.
    • The maple hardwood under the 1/2" OSB and lament tiles was almost completely un-salvageable with multiple cuts, screw, staple holes, not to mention the rot in two locations.
    • We cut into the built-in on the north wall to allow for a refrigerator to be recessed partly. (we don't know where the previous owners kept a refrigerator)
    • We scored and removed the back of the dining-room arch to create a pass-through between the kitchen and dining-room.
    More to come, enjoy!

I live in a decent neighborhood but I don't trust people. Anybody can drive through the neighborhood and if they can see in your garage, and see something of value, they can always come back. Especially when I have my '67 sitting in there. That's why my big door is only open when I'm moving something in or out, otherwise it's shut. It sucks to not have the door open when I'm working in there but it's one of the precautions I feel are necessary to limit the chances of thievery.

Is that an option for you? You could also keep power tools in a cabinet and add a padlock or deadbolt. Mostly keeping things out of site is a good start.
