His truck is only a 2011. Even if it started rusting since new, it could only have accumulated so much rust. Now ours on the other hand...over a decade old :bananadead:

Yeah I wouldn't pick the longer one without protection. Though if there is no clearance issues with the longer valve and skids, the longer one seems the way to go simply for ease.

Did you get the ball joint separated? I have a couple of pickle forks. I'm in NH, but I'm sure Karen could find them for you. It's nice that you don't have to worry about damaging the boot as the LR UCA come with new ball joints anyway.

    Done!!!

    Thanks everyone for your assistance.

Put all my shit back together and will do this another day. When I have all the right tools and parts.

I thought I could do this without cutting the UCA Pivot Bolt. Probably still can, but it looks like a lot of fender bending. A lot. So I guess I'll wait until my Wheeler's package arrives with the Pivot Bolt. Which BTW, I got a UPS shipping notice saying it will be delayed a few more days.

I did install my fancy pants valve covers with internal seals so I can call it a productive night :)

    I'm going to bed now...

You have such colorful stuff. Blue truck, pink calipers, yellow jack stands.

Thanks Tim. I buttoned everything back to its original state.

I'll do this in a couple of weekends when my Wheeler's package arrives with my UCA Pivot Bolt. Then I'll cut-off the original bolts.

I'll probably grab those tools from you before I start this project again.

Ha! It's just what a lot of people call the fork shaped ball joint separating tool thingy.

Not sure if I can attend Sunday, Feb 5th yet due to work but just in case I can, whats the plan for the day? Anyone know? Sounds like grilling at some point? That's pretty much all I've read. Hopefully I'll be able to free up that day.
