How's the beam with the HID's, any hot spots or weird patterns like with putting them in the factory housings?

I just did the conversion with Timicha on his Hella 500FF lights last night and after going for a test drive, there did seem to be some hot spots but it wasnt bad IMO. For the price, this mod is excellent!

Anyone have a reputable dealer that sells the conversion? I saw one last night and didn't bookmark it. The link on the front page didn't work (for me).

    Thanks!

You can do the same thing with the KC Highlites only a little easier. Not as much drilling on the lite housing. Nice job and good write up.

can you tell me how you wired your ballast to the relay for your setup, did you use a y connect to connect the ballast together?

    Damn this thread.

I just bought a pair of the 700ff lights. Getting ready to do the conversion.

Which bulb kit did you order from the link? The Apexcone, DDM, or Porsche one?

Have you guys had any problems with heat in the 700 housing? The website selling the bulbs mentions that the 55w bulbs get pretty hot and are meant for larger housings.

Just wanted to ask before I bought. Thanks!

    I bought the Apexcone.

Well i have the 35w and they don't even get warm. Honestly i doubt you will have any problems with the heat of the 55w since the lens is glass and the housing id steel. The only plastic is on the outer cover and if you melt that im sure the HID wiring will be toast before that happens.
