Seeing the Hilux when I was in Afghanistan this year is what sold me on the Tacoma Double Cab...yeah it's not diesel but I loved those things over there... And they looked nothing like the ones in these video's..

And I love this show also!

Apparently only euro models get the diesel.... even American companies like Jeep have diesel models for Europe...friggin BS, I'd buy a diesel Tacoma or Jeep in a heartbeat...

The Hilux is very sweet... Apparently it is much better built than the Tacoma as well.

    Very sweet looking!

I like the idea of a diesel in the tacoms, but sorry that Hilux in the above pic looks like a Nissan Frontier..

May be bomb proof, but the short front is fugly.

I don't think the Hilux looks nearly as good as the Tacoma. However I would like the diesel engine they can get! The only Hilux that looks good to me is the arctic truck's one thats used in the Top Gear show.

Don't be too disappointed about Jeep diesels not available here - apparently they're awful. They put on in the Cherokee which was laughable apparently.

I was looking through a Diesel Power magazine the other day and noticed the Nissan Frontier has a model that's all diesel.. and achieved 28mpg..

wishing that toyota had the same kind of engine option, i did my search and found this..

*wishful thinking* import a hilux! I want my MPG!

Why'd you buy a tacoma instead of a hilux?

^^Better looking, more power, better ride and more aftermarket parts. Also the police force use the Hilux to patrol the farm and mining communities in my country. It's a cop car basically.

more power? i haven't really looked into the hilux too much, but doesn't the hilux come with a diesel engine (more torque)?

I actually really like the way the Hilux looks... more than the Tacoma!
