Whats inside this thing!!!!

Was just wondering if anyone has taken it apart and seen what size speaker it is and if its replaceable?

Yep, straight from the dealer. It's supposedly a "subwoofer", but I'm more curious what size speaker it is, and if I can replace it with an aftermarket speaker. Any ideas? I don't wanna be the virgin to take it apart first!

How handy are you? I'd gut it out and fit two 8" JL's in there, fiberglass it sealed, line-x it and throw an amp under your seat. That'd be pretty trick. I could always do it for you if you don't feel good working with fiberglass

 

That is such a terrible design! It does not fit the design of the cab and stands out too much. Looks like a freaking alien.

i was just wanting to know if i could possibly replace whatever is in it with an aftermarket? no ones taken it apart before or has the specs?

if you don't really care for it much I would gut it just to see what is in it and do a write up about it. Just for the rest that are curious about it as well (Me being one of them lol). If you do, I wouldn't until you find/figure out how to dismantle it properly.

Seriously...I can't believe no one has taken this thing apart yet. I think the majority own double cabs so there is a lack of write-ups on the access cab.

Examine it closely and figure out how to remove the cover. It was assembled and CAN be disassembled. Dive in and take pictures!
