4.56 gearing

    I know tons of people have done the 4.88 regearing but has anyone done the 4.56

    I have 4.56 on my 2nd gen. Couldn't speak for 3rd gen though.

    4.56 is available, just not sure how hard it is to get and from whom. Toyota makes said gears, but cost would be a factor going that way. Not sure who does them in the aftermarket world.

    Depending on application. There isn't much difference between 4.56 and 4.88. These trucks would benefit mostly from the 4.88

    go 4.88 anything higher like 4.56 is a waste of time because of how the transmission is geared. The only way I would look for 4.56 is in a manual truck.

    all of the TRD or manual trucks have a new rear axle which only has 4.88 available at this time.

    Sorry the only available options to regear is 4.88 right now.

    The auto has 3.90 and the manual has 4.30 gears in them from factory.

    The axle itself is new for 3rd gen trucks.
