Did a focus group for Davis Research on Thursday night, had a few other Tacoma owners that were familiar with this site wonder if any are on here regularly? Pretty cool experience, ending up giving feedback on the new Ridgeline. $175 for 2 hours, I got an invite in the mail addressed to myself or current owner of the Tacoma, I'd recommend doing it if you get an invite.

For the guys talking stereos, do you think it would be worth replacing the door speakers with these Kicker RTs:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/262805318564?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I probably should have grabbed some, they are normally $89-$99.
I was hoping to just replace the speakers, sticking with the stock head unit, and eliminate some of the distortion at louder volumes, maybe add just a little bass. I fear replacing the head unit because that normally results in a smashed window and torn up dash :( .

So I have to ask, what did you say about the ridgeline? What sort of stuff were they looking for? Just curious is all.

Most guys had the same opinion, that there are some cool features, and tricks, but it just didn't have the wow factor when you looked at it, didn't look exciting to drive, it's really the car of trucks, but not capable enough for big jobs, not really something you'd mod for off-road capabilities.

I'm sure it's fine for soccer moms that want to grab a bag of mulch and want something that rides like a car, but it's really an SUV or even mini van that has an open bed in what's traditionally the third seat area.

The audience was mostly "truck" guys and most preferred the Tacoma, Chevy/GMC, another was looking forward to the new Ranger/Edge.

They just wanted to get our impressions/preferences.

I'm sure they wanted clarification on whether or not the Ridgeline is a bullshit truck, to which everyone probably responded "duh"

Lookin good. Those silver/chrome steps look out of place though. I've got a set of black ones I would trade for a good waxing! I've got some minor pin striping I need fixed.

Yeah I noticed at least 1 new one but most are from my first trip 1 month after getting the truck up in Colorado. They all appear to be light clear coat scratches that should buff out pretty easy. I used High pressure rinse at the self wash place down the street the day after to get most of the mud off after barnwell but havent given it a good wash yet. Just wanted to get most of the mud off to keep the driveway clean.

Silver hides minor clear coat scratches better than MGM. I didnt think I had any new ones but was looking at it in the sun yesterday and saw the new one. Was kinda hoping it was just dirt but the direction was wrong so I felt it and knew right away it was a stripe.
