I'm not sure what is expected from all this, but you'll at least be able to get into the customize functions.

I have a licensed bluetooth scanner that I use that only cost 50$ that I can pretty rely on for day to day non-warranty work.

The biggest thing is to not attempt any major changes like a re-flash without licensed and updated techstream software, you'll freeze your 3000$ ECU.

No offense but I find it hard to believe the engineers at Toyota can't fix this transmission shifting issues. It's really easy you don't let it shift until 2000rpms. I shift mine manually sometimes at 2000 rpms and it's as smooth as silk. And for the love of god don't lock the converter up right after it goes to third and bog the motor down. Smh.

This is the main reason that I picked up the cable and software. I got mine from the ODB365.com link from above and it works like a champ.

Has anyone successfully figured out how to make the "auto" heater setting direct air to defrost and feet at the same time? I've tried the different settings under the air conditioner customization and nothing changes. I hate how it ONLY blows air to the floor when auto is engaged.

Yes they sure can, but they are also hindered by EPA and CAFE laws. Doing this after the truck is built would violate these laws, that is if their changes mess with our MPG.

Auto takes the best way to either heat or cool the cab. Heating the cab is best by the floor (heat rises) and cooling is best by the head vents. I wish auto could work in any setting though.

It's not so much MPGs, as it is emissions.

I press auto then select defrost/floor. The auto light shuts off but it still modulates to maintain the temp.

FWIW, the way we(EPA) tests emissions is...different.
    We go by units/gallon.
Most everyone else goes by units/distance.

Curious why this is an issue in some trucks but not all? Or maybe they all do it but some are worse than others?

It has to do with the angle of the driveway, the length of time the truck sits, how cold the temperature gets down to, and the transmission fluid level (the factory correct level still allows the issue). The issue also happens, usually, on the 1st (and maybe 2nd) acceleration. I would be willing to bet that if the transmission pan was overfilled by 1" (I don't recommend doing this!) there would be no flare.

Thanks. Was just trying to understand why some have the issue and not others. Ever.

Since you have an inside track...
The AC60 is basically the little brother of the AB60(Tundra); you reckon they share a lot of the problem parts?

You are awesome. This works perfectly and was exactly what I wanted. I don't really understand why the auto light shuts off, but it definitely works well.

Does anyone know where to look in Techstream to see what software is on the Tacoma? My dealer claims that my truck has the most current version on it, but I want to verify myself that it actually has the REV 1 update that is supposed to help with the transmission shifting issues. I have Techstream and the cable.

@gearcruncher , would you be willing to take a stab at this?
