What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Replaced front brakes and rotors and drivers side cv axle

 

Do you mean lighting up the whole grille or just the letters? I've considered getting a PRO grille, but only if I can find a way to illuminate the "TOYOTA".

 

Did you follow any certain write up for the CV axle? Or did you make a write up by chance?

 

I had read a write up a week or so ago. It's pretty easy. Remove tire, remove dust cover and then the 35mm or 1 3/8" king nut/cotter pin, and that will have the cv loose. Then remove the 2 lower ball joint bolts to allow more movement of the steering to pop out the out cv portion. Once you have it pulled out from there you can take a pry bar to pop the inner portion of the axle out.
Some oil will spill out but not much. Just have the other cv ready to slide in quickly. It's best to have a mallot to help tap past the ring that goes into the differential side. Once that is in, just work it back through the rotor, put king nut/pin back on, lower ball joint bolts, and then tire.
Hopefully that all makes sense. Sorry for the image being at the top. This "ring" is what the green arrow is pointing at. I felt like that part might be confusing how I explained it. Basically it's a washer that's on the spindle that you have to use some force to get past.

 

This was a a little bit ago but Installed some New headlights and replaced the front Chrome grille with a black one. Also tinted windows but that isnt shown here.

Go to Tractor Supply and buy a 6ft sheet of stall mat. Its better than OEM Bed mat and its about $25.

 

Prep'ed for install tomorrow. Garage was only 37f so I had to get the heater going.

The reason i dont want certain bumpers is all the holes up front, aside from the lightbar hole.

Most guys will build to suit your needs.

 

They did that w/ the hoop. Needed it a certain size to accommodate my two 7" spots that I wanna mount in it.
