It was fiberglassed yea. Thats an older ranger btw. More room to work with on a taco and theres already a decent sized cutout there.

So a little off topic but....

Thinking about buying a used third member with 488s and a arb. The guy claims it only has about 3k miles on it.

How can I check to make sure they are actually 488s and check the locker?

    Brand stamp or something?

Okay hopefully you all can help me out! Yesterday I replaced injectors, fuel pump, put in headers and exhaust. It sounds like I have an Intake manifold leak but when i look and listen to the engine it doesn't sound like it's coming from any connection. It also looks like I have some fuel coming from around the injectors, not a lot just a little on the seal on the outside. And then the computer is adjusting itself from the exhaust but I'm getting a weird purge. It'll go from 750 rpm's to 1000 in a consistent jump.

Did you use fuel to lubricate the o-rings on the injectors. If not it's possible you tore up the injector oring. Might cause some of the noise and weird idle you have too.

I didn't no, they went in so easy didn't think I'd have to. I will though today and I'll replace the o rings. Do I need to replace the gasket that's in the head?

Cool you found a used one.

It'll be pretty obvious its an arb. Should have a stamp on it though somewhere.

For gears. You'll have to mark them and count. Best way to check. Paint pen is fine to use or sharpie.

They'll feel easy but I've torn them up still. I'd check them if you put them in. If they look ok put some fuel on them before you install them. It doesn't take much to ruin those pesky little things...
I've never messed up the ones going I to the plenum/head but I've messed up the ones on the rail
