A poll is more accurate and valuable than Jimbo saying "aint got no problems here, so there must not be a problem". It's literally the difference between facts and some guys personal opinion.

You should have negotiated a smoking deal on it while it sat dead on the side of the road.

I'm wondering if you're willing to find out what happened to that truck if you can follow up with that salesman at that dealership?
Lots of valid issues noted for stalling on this site, but curious if they're recurring or possibly a new one we can pay attention to for a brand new off the lot truck. I believe it would be the first posted on here.

Thanks for taking the time out and letting us know @tacoma04 about your unfortunate experience!

The bad thing is I bet the dealership did nothing to address the issue afterwards and the truck is back on the lot awaiting its next test drive

Recovering 98% of your costs. I'd REALLY like to see your math on that.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
That is pretty sad that the truck stalled on a test drive. I would agree with some people saying the truck had a known issue due to the salesman's response. Unfortunately things like this happen. A few years ago a coworker test drove a $65,000 Dodge 2500, made it 5 miles and the truck stalled. Dealer ship ended up towing it back. Needless to say the guy still drives his Ford F-250.

    Lol me too!

Really what he's doing is breaking even and actually losing 2% because his loan re-rolled onto the new one.

Some people just don't know how car loans work or any loans for that matter.

Should have charged him for "fixing" the truck. Salesman probably didn't even know how to turn it on which is why he asked you.

So if you paid $35k for the truck you are saying you are getting $34,300 on trade, is the Pro marked up $10k over MSRP?

    This^
And, it's why I buy Toyota. In 5 Trucks since '74 never had to use the warranty yet. Breakdown on a test drive, LoL. Classic, but so uncharacteristic of Toyota. The head shed should be embarrassed.

At least he got it before he put his money down

As noted by some others, I have wondered what they would do with the truck also. I parked it right in front of the service department, but it was a Saturday afternoon, so who knows if they do anything on Monday or later this week.

I may wait a year or two more and see how that test drive goes. Actually, on the drive home my wife and I started talking about possibly replacing our 4th gen 4Runner with a 5th gen 4Runner. The problem there is our 08 4Runner is in such good shape with 103,000 miles. I just can't see getting rid of it.

Either way, I still love my Yotas and hope the 3rd gens do well.

Now that's funny shit right there. Tell that to my buddies with new frames, rear springs, and rusted TRD Sport stock wheels.
