I have been doing some research with no luck. Lately I have noticed that when I am approaching a stop or beginning to slow down and I depress the clutch the lights dim. How can I resolve this issue? I am driving a 2002 TRD 5spd 4x4. What are the best options to better lighting solutions without HID Retrofits? Thanks in advance!

I think you may have a short somewhere in the wiring. Not sure.

Im terrible with electrical issues. I have never had any kind of issues with the battery dying or anything of that nature. How would I begin to locate a short?

Could possibly be the alternater, because once the truck starts, it kind runs things. So when you stop the engine is idling down, which in hand turns the alt slower, which means less power. Possibly im not for sure though.

I am looking to install a winch and light pods/bar soon would an upgraded alternator be needed to run these goodies? I wouldn't mind killing 2 birds with one stone.

Well if the alt is going bad, when replacing/rebuilding it, it couldnt hurt to have it rebuilt bigger, that never hurts anything. But ifnits not your alt then im not sure what it could be.

You can have different brushes and higher amp guts put in it. There is a shop that is local where i live that will do it, im not sure if there is anywhere in other places, im sure there is. Like when i had my huge stereo system in a couple cars, they rebuilt it to hold the draw of the stereo, so my lights didnt dim and such when the stereo was playing. Didnt overwork the alt.

I'm having a problem with the passenger side headlight going out, usually when the hood is shut or after a large bump. High beam works fine. Wiring harness does look a bit rough though.

You might want to inspect the Harness for a short?

It seems it was around 125 but this was a few years back. So im sure now it is more costly.
