Anyone else notice that during the day you really can't see the turn signals in the mirrors? I was in front of a store with mirrored windows hit the turn signal and nothing happened. I got out to see if they were working and they were but they were very faint.

Mine are tinted, to blend in with my black truck. Doesn't bother me. But I know what you mean

    Just a few LEDs...
The "lens" in the turn signals for the mirrors are setup to be visible from the rear of the truck. I made a modification to mine first by cracking open the lens assembly and adding and LED strip to the silver face on the inside, but I do not recommend trying this because while I got lucky on the first one, I cracked two of them trying to do the passenger side. I eventually drilled holes and mounted a strip behind the silver face so the LEDs would shine through it. I have not gotten around to it yet, but I plan on doing a new set of signals with holes drilled to just the right size so I can mount either 3mm or 5mm individual LEDs which I'll then wire up with a resistor so they will work on 12v.

I also made a modification to have them work as parking lights as well as turn signals, but that is another project in another thread.

Looks nice. I would like to set them up on the dome ground so they go off and on with the clicker!

You confused me when you say they are meant to be seen from behind.

The stock turn signals in the sport mirrors are much brighter when viewed by a driver in a vehicle behind the truck. The lens channels the light from the three LEDs to the other end of the lens. Try turning on your hazard lights and look at the truck from several different angles and you'll see what I'm talking about. ;)
