Add a piece of sound deadening material to the sheet metal. Cuts the noise level down by half.

I installed a pop and lock around noon.
by 8pm it already stopped working.

its dark so didn't look into it much, I'm guessing (hoping) a loose connection somewhere (thinking in the tail gate)
gonna open it up tomorrow and see.

it worked fine all day when I was out, then when I got home went to get stuff out of the bed, it unlocked I opened and then when I closed it again it stopped. Thinking maybe connection got shaken loose. gonna see if I can get it working and if it is that probably going to crimp the connectors a little to tighten them and add some heat shrink.

That has been discussed several times in this thread. There isn't. Embrace the solid sound of security.

Most likely it is the splice connectors in the cab. Give them a little twist to get a better connection.

Did this mod over the weekend. It took me one hour and cost me $5.00. Best mod I have ever done. Thanks for idea.

Those connectors that come with it are garbage. I had the same issue. Swap them out for some other ones. If you don't have any you can get a couple at RadioShack

Installed the Pop N Lock today and am very happy with the quality of the kit. Solder your connections people! Those clamp style connectors are garbage and should never even be used.

    second that.
mine wasn't working so I took it apart found the joints were shite, so figured I should take my time and do it properly and just solder it.
no help from pop n lock though.
rather disappointed I emailed them and now a week later still never heard back from them about it.

Oh well...at least it's working now.

I was planning on wiring mine to a switch so it only activates when I flip the switch and not all the time. So, technically it would be silent most of the time :)

Anyone figured out how to wire it to a switch inside the truck?

like to not have it with the rest of the locks? or so that it doesn't always open with the doors?

When I asked someone, it sounded super complicated. I am going to lean towards just wiring it to a switch and it will disrupt the unlock/lock signal unless the flip is switched.

I like to have my truck programmed so the touch unlock does all the door with one touch. Afraid of wearing out the pop and lock after years of use. Would rather just have a button for it in the cab.

I think a lot people would prefer to be able to walk up to the truck and unlock the tailgate with the key fob. Instead of having to open the door and reach in to unlock the tailgate.

I'm one of the few who would prefer to open the door. For the most part, my tailgate should stay locked and the times I do need it open, I'd probably have to go get the tailgate key anyhow (with no Pop N lock). 2016 world problems.
