Tacoma wave?

This has been my experience. If I drive past a Tacoma that's had some hours put into it, they will wave or I will. Have no idea why. It's some weird instinct. But anything not obviously modded? Nah. That's weird. HOWEVER I will say that I've passed a handful of 3rd gens and had to fight the urge to wave. Like, my hand desperately wanted to wave. I did not, I remained in control. But I swear to god when the other driver and I locked eyes at that moment we passed, incould see he was looking at me like "I wanted to wave so bad but we don't do that dumb shit I'm so sorry I wish things were different" and I felt the exact same way! Hiding my feelings makes me feel like an emotional Anne frank. I can't even anymore.

got one today from a fellow Taco driver, second time I got one too... I felt like the coolest kid at school! ... I guess I'm doing something right to get my taco noticed

I've waved to a few and they look at me like wtf.

 

Is there a Recall Wave for those with recall notices, so that they can commiserate? Maybe we should start one? Wonder what it would look like.

 

When turd gen owners pull up next to me I intensely wiggle around in my seat making the truck rock back and forth so they can listen to all the squeaks my bushings and leafs make. Unfortunately the rocking was too much and my diff exploded, trans got stuck in gear, then lunged forward hitting a random wall... the only waving I do is when the tow truck is coming so he can see that it is infact the brand new $30k+ That's broken down on the side of the road. BTW I forgot the shaking also caused intense vibration destroying ALL my needle bearings throughout the truck.

 

Where I grew up, all pickups wave at each other... very low population rural county though, so that may have something to do with it. I didn't stop waving at every truck I passed until I was dang near 30.

 

At least the wiggling didn't get any sand in your fuel tank.

I just like waving to random cars/people now ever since I read this thread. When I see the person make eye contact with me you can see their minds thinking "Who The Hell Is This Waving To Me.". For the most part people hesitantly wave back 80% of the time. The ones that don't my had moved from a wave to a middle finger and then I smile. I like the later response better. Oh, I did wave to a guy and his return instantly was a middle finger. I almost pissed myself laughing since he did it so quick in return.

 

Fuck waving. I even hate it riding my motorcycles. What, since we both have the same type of transportation we're somehow bonded forever? No way, Joe Zay.

I get 3rd gens waving at me all the time when I'm driving my AWD Sienna. Pretty similar vehicles, both Toyota , both AWD/4wd, and both powered by Van motors.

 

I'll accept a respectful nod of the head. Anything else seems a little gay to me.
