Rear leaf spring TSB's

I am noticing some serious sag after having my rear leafs replaced under the TSB this past year. I am guessing maybe 1 - 1.5" difference from before. This is on a 2008 DCSB Prerunner. If I were to install an airbag kit and inflate them to raise the truck around 1.5", would this basically make it feel like there would be no suspension in the rear at all going over bumps ? What are my options ? Are the air bags a good solution ? Aside from a load of mulch and helping people move, my truck sees very little heavy hauling and no towing.

 

it would probably be more cost affective to just upgrade the leafs. you don't need to put All Pros or Dakars but there are some good after market leafs that are an oem replacement, just better haha i cant think of any off hand because i haven't looked into it but ive read some threads about them so i know they exist haha I'm sure some one will chime in here with some suggestions

 

Why not go with an AAL (less expensive option), or new leaf pack (more expensive option)?

To know for sure how much they sagged, or not, measure from center of hub to bottom of fender. Typical measurements are ~20" front, ~22" rear, on a factory non-lifted Tacoma. That way you can determine how much lift (or not) you need.

 

I think wheelers has some leafs you could try, the 4 leaf pack would bring you back to stock height I think or General leafs, there's lots of info on here for that kind of stuff, I just did a quick search.

 

I had the TSB leafs done a few months ago. The dealer would not put my AAL from my older leaf pack on the new TSB leafs. They would however order one and install it for $299. I said nothank you and that I would like my AAL put in the bed of my truck to take with me. When I got home I dropped the TSB leafs and added the AAL to them. I actually took the first leaf off and replaced it with the AAL. Great ride height and ride. PS. I could feel the axle wrap on the new TSB leafs on the way home.

Thanks guys! This has been helpful. The dealer replaced my springs and I noticed right away that the rear end was sagging. I think I'll add some leafs. Any recommendations for which brand?

 

Well, I did some center hub to bottom of fender measuring and came up with 20" in the front and 22" in the rear. I guess I have no saggage after all.
