    When I'm going hunting, I use only my fog lights on the trails. On my old Chevy, I disconnected one of the fog lights so I threw even less light. While I didn't drive near where I was hunting, I might disturb someone else and I'm being courteous.

    There are times on really dark roads I like having my brights on AND the fogs. Stock doesn't allow this but the mod does.

    There's two reasons.

    My truck didn't have fogs being it is a base model so I had to wire them totally separate from everything to a switch.

    wherever I drive on base they want you to turn your headlights off as not to blind the gate guards. They also don't have street lights so you can't see any obstructions in the road. This allows me to turn off my headlights but still see the road.
