    Any of you guys have Bluetooth in your trucks , thinking of upgrading my stereo in mine and upgrading to a Pioneer system that's also Bluetooth . At the same time upgrading the speakers to better quality

    Thought about going to Bluetooth system since Calif now has stricter cell phone laws while driving now

    I do it works pretty well it is a Kenwood but I did do a whole system Blue tooth , Nav, DVD and it also has wait for it :} you can plug the back up camera into it for a larger screen. Handles IPod or direct usb drive for music movies etc :} As compared to the low end stock unit lol yeah no comparison :}

    This is what I had installed:
    All Stock Speakers rem and replaced 6.5 Inch Kicker CS with tweeters front and they added them for the rear :}
    Rockford Fosgate P4 400 watt Amp drives the 6.5” and Tweeters Front and Rear
    Rockford Fosgate P2 200 watt Amp drives the 10” Sub
    10” Sub Kicker CVT
    Kenwood DNX6980
    Steering Wheel Controls
    Ipod / Secondary Input
    External Output to Rear Seat Area video cables for later use.

    I custom built the rack for the amps behind the drivers side rear seat and the 10 inch sub sits right in the plastic cubby on the passenger side. Had to do some surgery on the drivers side cubby for the rack to sit in it .

    This guy did a nice review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=As6qoTQQCQc

    Umm I have a 2011 dbl cab :} It sort of says so over there < doesn't it ? :} Ok yeah that was a smart ass comment lol went and pulled up a picture of what yours looks like. Those are a little dimensionally smaller interior wise correct ?

    There is a sub that is self powered and slim will mount under a seat I put it in my RAV when I had it think it was pioneer , then you just have it and one amp to run the rest of the stuff. I know my setup is good for me .. to be honest it didn't need 600 total watts I had the Amps from another project car . I just checked lots of people making the slim self powered subs now . Google it :}

    I've got a smaller 1rst gen , not sure I could find a suitable location for a sub but possibly a amp though . I don't want to give up rear seat area for a sub

    That is quite the setup you have Cypher!

    I just have the stock unit that came with mine. The bluetooth works fantastic with the phone and clarity is great on both ends. The speech to text works great also for texts. However if you are dating more than one woman at a time I recommend you do not have it auto play texts from your phone, just saying...

    I have thought of upgrading but the stock unit is OK for the most part for me. I do like the Pioneer HU's the supertuner reception works the best by far of any other unit IME for FM radio. I do like Kenwoods too though and have owned several especially back when the dollar was strong against the Yen. My Xterra had a factory installed Rockford Fosgate sub under the drivers seat and could really rattle the hemorrhoids. I wouldn't mind upgrading but by the time I add up what I would really like decide to spend my money elsewhere or not at all. Since I've broken my antenna off on a trail I use the bluetooth to play music from my phone. I use Amazon Prime Music when I have reception and Google Play with stored music when I don't and it has worked out well for me so far. But could be much better. Between my son and I we have something like 20 Gb. of data each month with roll over and don't even come close to using it.
