Same. Having to use separate apps is so annoying. Having all my PM's and tags in one spot was great. Plus, notifications of being tagged popped right up on my home screen. Now I have to refresh the page to see if I have anything.

I will never sell a truck to buy a car because I know I will regret it and want to be right back in a truck. Only had 1 car and that was for college because I was broke, driving a ton and needed a low maintenance vehicle. Made the most sense, but as soon as I was out I had to have a 4runner again.

Regarding the notifications, I've checked all of mine and I don't have email notifications for threads (only a select few) because TW moves too fast. My email gets too many emails as it is and can't handle the TW BS, but I couldn't find a way to just get tagged notifications. Oh well I will see @tcBob has any input or just keep ignoring people.

I need to go through my T4R emails as I get some random threads I subbed to years ago and could care less about.

4th gen 4Runner or 1st gen tundra? I'll be daily driving and going on trails. Doing weekend trips and and driving 40 miles a day. Mpg is shitty on both but what's your take? Leaning towards tundra for the bed.

Love those things. 540's come with the v8 so it has plenty of power. Here's my brothers modded 540it:

The Tundra is big, it will fit, but bad turning radius and 6'2" bed make trails a bit more tricky unless you don't care about pinstripes. I've taken mine on a few and it does great and super comfortable, but anything technical I would want a smaller vehicle or not care about if my truck gets damages. For easy trails to camp sites and desert stuff it is perfect though. Obviously you know what a 4runner can do and they are great for any technical trails. 4th gens are super comfy as you know as well.

It really comes down to if you need a bed or not. We have an SUV already, so getting a truck only made sense. I LOVE having a bed and even if I'm not hauling stuff or working out of it everyday I still use it all the time. Load it up with boxes to trash, bikes, ect. it really helps a lot. The shell is awesome, but also a PITA sometimes when I'm restricted height wise and have to take it off or figure out how to make things fit.

But as I said before the Tundra is big compared to the T4R. I have to park at the ends of parking lots, can't squeeze into spots and a pain to turn around, but all very manageable and worth it. Plus the interior is the same size of the 4runner (way bigger than 3rd gen) so it works better for the family. I will only be selling this truck to buy a 3rd gen Tundra down the line when I want more power/towing capabilities.

Wont be great but it'll still be way better than what you'd get in the 4Runner.

Gotcha. You won't be as impressed as I was then.

I picked up an old LS430 as a commuter and it was the best thing ever. I sit in traffic pretty much throughout my entire commute to and from work (2 hours each way) so I never really see great MPG in anything other than a Prius. My LS gave me 20 combined. Not great, but the UZ motors aren't very conservative when it comes to gas. And still leagues better than the 10-12 my 4Runner gave me.

That was another reason of getting rid of my 4Runner was because we have another SUV to haul kids and do SUV things. I sure miss having the bed. I had an 07 prerunner a while back before I discovered this forum. There's nothing technical around me and where I plan on living in the future which is charlotte but that's years from now. I think a truck would be a good fit. As far as parking, I never was the type to find the closest parking spot anyways. I don't mind parking a few spots further. I like the idea of a shell for my dog that's a dummy and would probably jump out of the bed on the highway. Decisions, decisions.

It'll be dirt king this time around. I want glass so I don't have to mess with cutting up my stock stuff. Rear end, maybe I'll see if the Tacoma TC shock hoops work.

Ouch 4 hours a day. That's a lot of time spent on the road man.
