Picked up a new tumbler, it's a Lyman twin turbo (it says turbo, that's gotta be good)

    IMG_2267.jpg

Needed a separator so I got a couple buckets from the HDepot and drilled a bunch of holes in the bottom of one. Whada know about that the buckets n tumbler are color matched.

    IMG_2266.jpg

First run of 556, this took about 0:30min.

Did a little "magazinesmithing" today. I had read that Beretta 92 magazines would fit my EAA Witness PS. I took measurements from one of my magazines and a short trip to a pawn shop that has a boatload of used (cheap) Beretta 92 magazines. The folks there were nice enough to let me take some measurements, and what do you know, they are the same size. The only difference is the location where the magazine catch is. They are a little higher on the Witness than they are on the Beretta. Test fitting works just fine. I have not been able to take it to the range yet, but it looks like it should work.

Hoping it does, because I have had my eye on a M-1 Carbine clone in 9mm and they use Beretta 9mm magazines. Thinking that would be a nice combination.

Sold my M&P40 and am going to replace it but not sure if I want to get a full size or compact/subcompact.

I'll replace it with either a CZ P0-9 or springfield XDs9.

I'm not eligible for a Concealed carry permit (age restricted) until July, however in my current state I can carry concealed sans-permit at my age.

So which one should I get?

I really am leaning towards the CZ because I prefer shooting a full size.

Got to check out the CZ P10 this week. One of the best striker fired triggers I've felt. Good Gen 4 style raised stippling pattern as well. You might wait a bit and see if you can get a hand on one to try.

One vote for the XDS9, but if you want full-size I would go for the mod 2

Either would be an excellent choice, but I really like my CZ 75 clone. That being said, see if you can shoot both and try them.

    I need some suggestions

I'm looking for something fairly specific that I'm hoping exists

I need a holster for a G31 (or 17/22 TBH) with an X300 light. I want the holster to be an offbody holster that I can mount in my night stand at a cant that makes for an easy draw from the bed

Does this exist? I've see Crossbreeds OHAI line, but they don't offer light bearing options that I can find

    sure

I'd essentially need to be able to mount it to a flat surface (in this particular application, it's cheap wood)

My pistol is a G31 with the X300 Ultra light and standard Glock night sights

Essentially, the flat side would be the same as the body side for RH draw, and I'd image a basic pancake style with wings that I could put screws thru would work

Why would anyone sell a gun? I can't even conceptualize this. Everyone I know, including myself, just keeps buying more. LOL!

I'd sell one that I couldn't shoot properly. :notsure:
Like if I was crazy enough to buy a gun without handling it first to make sure it 'pointed' correctly and felt right in my hand.

But, that being said...I've never sold one, haha!

I see your point! I bought a Glock 36 that was an absolute train wreck and sold it as fast as I bought it!

I never know what the future holds, or what my families needs may be, and I just grew up in such a way that you just never, ever, ever got rid of a firearm, unless it was with a family member. The XDS is the only firearm I've ever owned that I have trouble with. I really like the gun, I'm just leary of shooting it, so it stays in my backpack. Who knows, maybe someday someone will create a larger protective beaver tail lower that I can install and then enjoy it again. I have no intentions of getting rid of it.

That crossbreed looks just like a hybrid holster without the belt loops. Wonder if you could just get a hybrid g31/x300 holster and screw it into the wood using the holes that are already there for the clips.

Sounds like my dad. He's only ever sold one gun, his Python. He had to pay for his divorce from my mom. Years later, he married the daughter of the guy who bought the Python. She bought it back and gave it to him for Christmas. He's had that gun since the early '80s and has never fired it. It is still in the original box.

Aside from my dad's Python deal, no-one sells guns in my family. They're all handed down, either to the next generation, or to cousins/siblings if you upgrade. We're still using guns from the '50s and '60s. My newest gun is from 1965. My son is in line to get a 410 from his 10 year old cousin, a .22 from my dad and a youth size .270 from me when he's big enough.

The Glock 36 was just a horrible design over all. It couldn't handle the recoil Of the 45 efficiently,
    "you can't fix that"
But how come you don't like the Beavertail on the XDS?

It's too small. I've got large webbing between my index finger and thumb, creating a wicked slide bite situation. Love the gun! Best controlled recoil of any small .45 that I've ever shot.
