LCA hitting ball joint

    Put my lift on three days ago and now I have a thump. Most people say UCA, but it's my LCA that's hitting the lower ball joint. What's the fix for this?

    what lift was it again? if not clocked right the uca can actually hit the coil

    Are you topping out (full extension) going over a speed bump at 5mph?

    What about your LCA/UCA bushings? After a lift, if you don't loosen the bushings and reset them (allow them to reset to "neutral" at the new height), they'll be getting twisted a lot more when the suspension is cycling. If you have urethane, this probably isn't a problem unless you didn't grease them properly...

    I bet your issue is the suspension being maxed out like jbrant mentioned...its quite common to aquire a slow speed thud after a lift like that...

    It's likely that over sized spring trying to bust it's way out of the shock it's attached to.

    Only reason I can't see that is because my 5100's were set at max and that's almost as high as my truck is now. So it was compressing those springs pretty hard and never had noises.

    This is a bit confusing. You had 5100's on stock springs before, set at max height and sat around 2"? You then upgraded to 882 on the lowest setting, and now sit slightly higher?

    If that is true then you have more compression on the 882's than the stock springs. As for your clanking issue, to be more detailed, I think your suspension is completely maxed out, sitting at full drop under the weight of the truck. You hit a bump and the spring barely compresses then shoots back up to the maxed out configuration. I'm not entirely sure what the limiting factor of the stock suspension linkage is, or what binds first but I'll bet if you can find out you'll know where your contact is coming from.
