On January 23, 2016 I was driving my 2015 TRDORAC on a frontage road at about 35 mph. Several seconds before I got to an intersection the light turned green for traffic going my direction. There was a wall on my left which blocked the view of traffic coming from that direction. As I entered the intersection a full size GMC blew through the light from my left and I hit the front wheel on its passenger side head on. I don't remember seeing the other truck or even having a chance to react. The next thing I remember is my truck settling 90 degrees to the right of the direction I was travelling and the smell of gun powder from the airbags.

Here's the result of the impact. The blue truck on the right in the first pictures is the one that went through the stop light.

My truck had only 5800 miles on it. Prior to it I drove a 1993 Toyota Pickup for 20 years with no airbags and limited crumple zones. My wife say this truck was meant to be in the one I was driving when the accident happened. I just know that the safety engineered into it worked. I ended up with a broken collar bone, probably from the seat belt, had surgery on it a few days later, and today I'm good to go with some extra titanium.

The upside is that I now have 2015 TRDORDC. While I miss my old truck the new one and I are getting along famously.

I have a 2015, good to know the safety gear works as intended.

LOL, why I hadn't noticed before. Thanks for pointing that out (I'm guessing you may have them, too)

You and others in the cave sure helped out when I was laid up. And when it came time to find another truck all of you were right there.

    Tacomaworld rocks!

That's the thing MsWalla always commented on; except for the airbags everything in the cab appeared normal. I sure didn't realize things were as bad as they were until I crawled out.
