    Hey Guys..
Just joined the site.... loving the new truck... I am planing to do a big project in the back yard that will require a lot of demo... going to remove almost 100 feet of concrete from the back yard...BUT my truck doesn't have a tow package.. Does anyone have some ideas about cost I am going to be looking at to get a tow package?
Also if anyone has any input about towing with these trucks... Please I would love your input... I am going to get a trailer to load up with concrete, rather then just loading it in the bed... My roommate was saying he doesn't think my truck will have enough power to carry big loads of concrete.. but i would like to hear what other people have to say about that..
    thaakns in advanced.

Just basically pointing you to the actual specs for towing, payload, etc. I believe they are also on your door jam.

If you're looking to get the oem tow package, you may be able to get it at a decent price. BTW, welcome and nice AC!

The search feature is definitely your friend on a thing like this. There have been quite a few posts with many solutions. One is below. Check you local region buy/sell/trade forum here, you might be able to find an OEM hitch for cheap and can get away with only buying the wiring. Then check the towing bible in the Towing section for discussion about what you can actually safely tow.

Try to get the OEM parts shipped and installed at your preferred dealer. U-Haul quoted me 285$ to install a class 3 hitch and wiring but no upgraded alternator or auxiliary oil coolers like in the OEM package.

Hitch is $130 shipped (Aftermarket) and wiring is under $50, but you don't get coolers etc. without tow package you are limited to 3500lbs or so.

I took more than a half a ton of mortar in my truck it was not happy but it was fine and I have the 2.7 4 banger. Up to about 700lbs in the bed she is completely happy.

Power wouldn't be a problem. It's the same engine as the trucks that come with a tow package.

Yeah it can be added after the fact, and to keep it under toyota warranty, it would be safest to have a reputable toyota dealer install it for you if you get the oem package put on. I don't know exactly how much it would cost though. Like some of the others said, you may find someone on here selling their oem hitch for much less than new. I ordered my truck with it already on it, and it msrp's for $650. Or, if you don't care about full towing capacity, an aftermarket like reese without the trans cooler stuff added, would be cheaper. It all depends on what you are looking for and how you think you may be towing. Good luck whatever you do!

Look in the for sale threads. People post them for sale all the time because they are removed for aftermarket bumpers.

    Good luck and welcome!!
