Just bought a 2014 from a Toyo dealer no CPO.
I figured it was because they had touched up some scatches and it wasn't excellent shape
Called toyo with vin before I purchased and they said everything was ok

It's like those cans of corned beef with the key to peel back the metal, sometimes it just doesn't work.

That's probably exactly what happened with mine. There were some minor scratches and a small dent.

I got my 2011 trd sport from a Nissan dealership. Bought an extended warranty and recently used it for lower control arms. Made my money on the warranty right there. Everything else has been great.

What did the warranty cost you? Did you have to take it to a Nissan dealership for the control arms?

So they didn't know that SR5's and TRD Sport do go hand in hand and they made lots of them?

IDK. The KBB was equal to a normal SR5, not trd.

So you pick 2 internet photos of beat up, obviously not taken care of Nissan's to support your disdain for a vehicle that is not a Toyota? I like my Tacoma, for sure. Just because I own one doesn't mean other makes can't be just as good.

Hell, plenty of people have gotten "lemon"* Tacomas and had terrible experiences at Toyota dealerships, too. So don't give it a second thought... if the vehicle checks out and the price is right, go for it.

Picked mine up from a Mitsubishi dealership. They had about a dozen tacos to choose from. Most were very clean. Found out that the dealership owner makes it a habit of going to auctions in search of tacos to bring back and sell on his lot. Whatever works.

Toyota pickups of that vintage (late 80's) were just as rust-prone. :notsure:

Given how rabid Toyota fanboys are for a diesel, they probably traded it in on a new Titan.

I bought my Tundra at a Dodge dealer. The good part was that they priced it more like they would one of the "Big 3" for it's age and mileage, and moved a LOT on price when push came to shove. Pretty sure a Toyota dealer would not have made the same deal.

I think I paid like $2500 and there's a $100 deductible. It's thru Wells Fargo. I had to bring it to a shop and they give me an estimate which then has to be given to warranty company which they have to ok prior to any repairs beginning. Brought it to a buddy's shop. Worked out great.

Nice 80's truck. Probably has 3 million miles on it.
