Does anyone have any advice for a good Bluetooth aux cable device to add to a stock Tacoma stereo using an Android phone?

    ...we'll get there.
are you opposed to using it in conjunction with a tape adapter?

    https://www.amazon.com/USB-Bluetooth-Wireless-Receiver-Headphones/dp/B01EUD8OCI

i use this type of thing plugged into usb cigarette charger, then music to the cassette adapter. it's not elegant, but it's a tiny bit better than plugging the tape adapter straight into the phone.

my list of things to do is long, so head unit will have to wait.

Weird question, does your cassette adapter work pretty consistently? Tried to use mine the other day and it wouldn't fully engage, just kept cycling and eventually would eject itself.

I didn't think you could do that to the stock radio.
I'm sure he could search on Amazon like anyone else. I think he may have been asking if anyone had experience with one.

For that price, though, just go to crutchfield.com and get yourself a new deck with integrated bluetooth...

Yes I HAVE Google searched, but I was asking because I do not want to purchase an item and be disappointed with it. So I asked the question for others experiences.

The fm modulator/bt adapters like the jabra are as simple as you'll find. 10-20 bucks and your done. I had mine for years, used in several vehicles until it finally failed in my wifes car a couple months ago. Picked ip a new one at bestbuy and shes back in business.

Ive put bt capable head units in every vehicle, eventually but the transmitter always fills in the voids.

I installed a GTA Car Kit in my '06 Tacoma and my '05 Honda Odyssey. Very easy installs and once synced it works so well. HOWEVER - I've been having a lot of syncing problems since updating to the latest ios in my iphone. Per GTA - they're seeing a problem there. I'm still waiting to hear what kind of resolution they're going to provide if any.

GTA Customer Support Email Response: ".... We have found there are bluetooth issues with iOS10. Many people are having issues connecting to different sorts of bluetooth connections. ..."

You may want to discuss this with them prior to pulling the trigger if you choose to go with this option. There may be a fix in the works for future releases.

I have the GTA kit and have the current iOS10 software with no issues. Maybe try unpairing the device and power off the phone. Then pair it again to the GTA kit. Hope this helps.

It's really an inconsistent issue with the GTA Kit. Sometimes the controls are synced but not the speakers, sometimes it syncs and un-syncs repeatedly, sometimes I have to turn Bluetooth at my phone off and back on several times to get connected properly.

I want to relay GTAs latest response in our correspondence. Sounds more like an Apple issue than their hardware.

All said, they've been great to correspond with and their product is great barring what may be a contained incident with my specific phone/iOS.

    Hi.

Due to it being an iOS problem, there is not much we can do on our end at this time.
We have been waiting for Apple to address the problem because many people have been having the same issue connecting to any sort of bluetooth connection, not just our kit.
