Like most projects that are done with little planing there are things I would change if I did it again but it will work for me. At least for now.

so i have a few questions, I'm looking at a setup for a low profile pack rack in the back, with a roof top tent on top of it, I was looking at tepui tents but at 1k+ thats a little much, anybody have any other brands or avenues of getting one cheaper, also any other fabricators that make pack racks

I ordered a pair of 225w LED spots for my bumper. I'm going to apologize in advance for whoever is in front of me, because they're supposed to be insanely bright.

 

I just ordered some Rigid SAEs to replace my fogs. Going to move my 20" CaliRaised to the back of the truck as a work/reverse/stop-tailgating-me light.

Have you looked at https://www.gofsr.com/ for a tent?
I found them this weekend. They also have hard top tents listed on craigslist that are not on their site.
A couple of the smaller 1 -2 person tents are under $1000 w/ free shipping and that includes the extra enclosure.
I'm not affiliated with them, just sharing what i found.

When I get back from Big Bend next month this rack maybe for sale because I started drawing the next version this morning.

 

$1k is pretty much the price to play. There's a couple brands that'll get you is a little lower but not by much. Freespirit Rec has one at $895. Plus I just noticed that they have free shipping on all tents right now, which will save you $200 to $300. Smittybilt also starts at $900. Tepui $925. Geo $995. CVT $1095. Keep in mind the cheaper they are the smaller they are. Each one of those is about 48"-54" wide. Smaller or close to a full size mattress.
