Before I get started I asked this in suspension but the activity is low so I'm doing it here so inb4 repost.

I'm wanting to swap out the shocks (or thinking about it) on my sport for something with a softer ride off-road. This is my daily driver so I'm not looking to go crazy. I was thinking just picking up oe OR shocks and trading them out. Also I've lurked a lot of bilstein threads so those are in my head too.

I know nothing about this so input would be appreciated.

Hello. Your rough ride is coming from spring rate, shocks, stabilizer bar, and un-sprung weight. For a quick, cook book answer that works, go with the stock Toyota Off Road suspension system. I am very pleased with the ride, and while the on road performance handling is a little less nimble that the Sport, I much prefer the OR for comfort sake. Note: there are tons of people pulling their OR suspension parts off to install lift kits. You can buy them very cheap. In my opinion the OR suspension system solves all issues reasonable well except the un-sprung weight (which you will be stuck with). Just don't buy heavy wheels and tires in the future. Note: the Off Roads use 16 inch wheels. The added sidewalk height helps with road comfort as well. Consider this.

I am the only person on the forums who works for and is paid by HeadStrong. I know it can be confusing sometimes since other vendors pay for referrals and responses but ours are 100% organic and come from our satisfied customers. Which we really truly appreciate their efforts. Word of mouth, when not solicited, means everything.
