Most solder you buy has "Flux" in it...like peanut butter in an Abba Zabba bar. It helps the solder flow. You can apply flux separately, but isn't necessarily required if your solder has flux in its core.

 

I think when (not if) I get this, I would swap out for LED bulbs. Do you know if the resistor kits are needed with this module? I'd presume no, but thought I'd check.
