So you say those of us that believe these treatments to be snake oil are ignorant, yet you go on to say that all BMW engines have sludge issues.... righhhttt

I have almost 180k on my 06 Tacoma and have been thinking about doing an engine flush I think I might do it next oil change, any brand suggestions? I usually run Seafoam in the fuel but never did the engine flush. Mom's 2001 BMW 740i (4.4V8) has 200k on the original engine, no sludge issues. Conventional oil changes every 10k sometimes 15k. Anecdotal? yes, but It's not fair to say All BMW's have sludging issues, with lack of maintenance any engine can sludge up. Usually when I hear Sludge I think of Chrysler 2.7L and 3.5Ls.

As a long-time, multiple BMW owner, I can tell you that the only component on a BMW that builds sludge from lack of maintenance is the turn signal stalk. :)

How is that even contradictory to what I proclaim? You believe they're snake oil, I believe in the benefits. Is there a reading comprehension issue going on here or are you just in your own little world?

No it's safe to say all vehicles WILL have sludging issue because of the ridiculous oil service intervals set by the manufacturers to reduce the amount of WARRANTIED services. These all inclusive type programs, which all manufacturers do to some extent, is the leading cause of sludging from a non technical view. Obviously this applies to new vehicles.. As far as older vehicles are concerned where the service history is unknown. Yes use the detergents, not everything in the world is out to get you guys.

This is gonna be my final post in this thread because WOW.
Placebo? Ass dynometer? No proof of results? Holy man, you're really e-thugging it out here. You're telling me an ignition miss can't be felt? Retard timing?advanced timing? You're a skipped tooth on the timing is something that only a dynometer can prove? You guys here are obviously back Yarders who have worked on a total of one car, and now here to spread your infinite wisdom for the rest. Btw sludge doesn't "break off" it's sludge man. It'll get thinned out and slowly diluted into the oil/detergent.

You sir, have no idea of what you are talking about. I have no need to defend my credentials to you. lets just say it is good that you decided to stop posting in this thread. Why make it look worse right.

But please stick around the forums and read. You might be able to learn something.
