Anybody else have this issue? What up with the rust? Very disappointed in icon! Only had the icons for 6 months......junk!

    I agree.

Mine look fine but I keep them sprayed with silicone spray.

Not to mention, aren't they aluminum?

They may come with some rust coating but once you turn that span nut to set height adjustment/dampness it probably wears down the coating.

You need to keep them sprayed down with a silicone spray or fluid film in the salty climates and wash regularly! Your balls (uni) need to be cleaned too.

One of the reasons I've never been a fan of coilovers, you really need to stay on top of the maintenance to keep them functional and adjustable.

On a side note. Am I the only one who took off the driver/passenger stickers when I installed mine?

Mine didn't come with any coating. Had them installed since summer and they still look relatively fine, but I do wash them pretty damn frequently. I've seen other reports/photos of Icon stuff looking just like OP's after a similar, short time frame.

    Whole lotta stuff
Well. If you want your coilovers to stay pretty, take care of them. Every suspension component is going to be vulnerable to road grime, especially if you live in a salty/moist climate. I can't speak to the rust being formed on the shock body, seems strange, but not unwarranted considering the way your uniball looks. Clean them up, spray them down with fluid film, repeat preventative maintenance.

Personally, I've taken a liking to the coilover covers that Icon sells. I plan on spraying mine with a corrosion preventative and covering them up when I install mine.
