I swear I was on the toyota website just last week building a prospective 2017 MT DCSB TRDOR and the quicksand color was one of the two available. Now when I go there, the only option is the MGM. What gives?

It's BS.....regional availability on Toyotas website changes on the regular based off of production runs. Don't worry, you'll be able to get it even if your dealer has to swap from out of the area

    all tore up already
"build" isnt building. its letting you narrow down available selections. so if noone has an allocation of a particular combination, it will not show as a possible build option although they could be available in another region or another time if that makes sense

Thanks for the quick replies and the explanations. I understand now. Count this thread as solved I guess.

I ordered my Manual 17 recently and it only gave me 2 choices, QS and MGM, it is scheduled to be built on March 4th.

I figured this would be the case. In a perfect world, I feel like you should be able to get any color you want in any configuration, but I'm sure there are logistical issues with this that I can't wrap my head around.

When l tried to plug in any other colors it switched from Off Road to Sport. The Dealer explained to me that the Factory sets up to build 1 configuration and then builds only that config for a set amount of time and then changes to a different for a set amount of time and so on. I believe that is a limiting factor in the choices you can make.

If you are willing to wait you can have any color. I wanted a Super White DCSB OR w/ MT, P&T Pkg, and Tonneau. At the time I ordered the online configuration tool only let me choose Silver or Inferno with the options I wanted. Talk to your dealer and be willing to wait for what you want. That's what I did and it was worth it!

You can build any available combination on the Canadian site, which makes sense. It would be kinda pointless for you though since all your options and packages are different.

So is there a direct relation to what can be built on the website and what my dealer can order for me?

Example: I want a 2017 MT DCSB TRDOR in Quicksand, but all that is available is MGM. Can my dealer ask a different region where this config is available to have it built and then do a dealer trade? I know it is possible this truck could already be somewhere and didn't need to be built as well.

They would definitely rather do a Dealer Trade rather than "Order" for you. As I mentioned earlier they told me they only build certain Configurations for a set period of time and if I recall correct they said they only build Manuals 4 times per year.

If you go on Cars.com and do an advanced search and pick manual trans you will find several QS Manual OR's, a couple had P&T and the others did not.
