Cool! Let me see how my school work comes along for the week. Trying to get a little bit done each day so I don't consume my whole weekend like this last one. Should know by Friday.

Banned on all federal lands (BLM, USFS). Mixed interpretations/enforcement on private lands. Some people say you have to have a permit, someone else said they've contacted the relevant agency and were told it's legal for 'private use'. I'd be making that call myself if I intended to try it, because the laws in question seem pretty clear to me (no without a permit). And then there's a question of quantities, etc. Popping off small amounts may not draw attention. You blow up something significant and permit or not I'll just about guarantee the sheriff is going to show up in an unpleasant mood.

I'm just parroting what I've read and have no actual experience or knowledge fiddling with either of them. And it could be either of them. My understanding (again, with no actual authoritative knowledge) is that the one on the front diff is likely the culprit if 4Hi is the issue, and the one on the transfer case is more likely if 4Lo is the issue. In either case, there's plenty of pictures of both opened up and they're not terribly complex. My biggest concern if I were to have to try and work on mine is whether or not/how much concern there is regarding alignment of things when putting it back together. I suppose I could dig into the FSM here... Unless someone who does have experience or first hand knowledge wants to chime in. :D Of course, if you're just trying to get it taken care of under warranty...
