I'm looking to buy some tires most likely in 265/75/16 size this week. I will keep my stock wheels for now. I drive 20-25k miles a year so something that wears well is important. But I am definitely a weekend off road/camping warrior so capability is important. I've owned Duratracs on a different vehicle before and loved them, but open to any and all suggestions. Oh, and pictures of course! Thanks.

Yeah my father in law just put a set of those on his 2001 tundra. I've heard lots of great stuff about them from several people.

Had these on my Ranger and loved them. Good in rain and snow. Quiet on road. Solid for moderate off roading. Have only 11k on my Taco with the GY Kevlars which are decent. As they wear down a bit more, I'll be putting these Coopers on.

265/75/16 ko2s. Stock suspension and wheels. No problems with rubbing and amazing performance in the snow and mud.

Got the same pair! Do your have a wind howling noise at 65+ mph? I have had duratracs on my 4runner and FJ and never recalled them making this much noise

The GY that come with it seem fine for what you mentioned that you do. If you want it to "look" aggressive then the KO2 and Duratracs are the more popular ones.

Well I haven't actually gone more than 45 mph yet. At 45 they have a little bit of a hum but it's very minimal. I will have to pay attention for that!

I agree. The stock tires were good. I put 27k on them so they were down to about 25% tread and I was ready to upgrade. I had them in snow just last week and still did great (6+ inches of snow, nothing crazy). And the few times I went on very light off road trails they were fine.

Ohhh gotcha. I thought you were just replacing them "because".

I've been thinking about the KO2s myself when it comes time for me to change, but they only come in Load E for the stock 16" wheel. I really dont know if I want that stiff ride or heavy ass tire on there. Someone mentioned the Michelin LTX all-terrains which, realistically, fit my needs better than the KO2s. (I do very little off-roading: some fire roads, dirt/gravel mountain roads up to our cabin, and I have aspirations of driving/camping on the beach). They come with a 70K mile warranty, but they definitely lose in the aggressive looks department.

I've had Duratracs on two previous trucks and loved them, but I decided to try a different route with the STT Pros. Have to say that I'm glad I made the choice that I did!

I came so so close to buying some cooper stt pros. I had the older version of them on an xj a few years back and loved them. Didn't get great life out of them though. But I think ultimately the stt pros finished second on my list. Maybe I'll have to give them a shot on my next set of tires. I'll prob ad a lift when these tires work out and I'll give the coopers a shot.
