2005-2010 Model year changes

Hi guys, I've searched this site and the web and I cannot find the answer to this. I want to know specifically what has changed from year to year in the 2nd generation Tacoma. All I can find are generalities or brief descriptions. Thanks for your help!

 

well since nobody has answered yet i'll get this thread going...

I know in 2009 tacomas came stock with a back - up camera!

 

And I believe the TRD versions (maybe SR5 also) came with side airbags. TRD version has better side bolster seats.

 

09 was the changing year- side airbag seats (TRD only), bluetooth, back up camera and I think all the VSC and ATRAC stuff was thrown on in 09 as well.

Day time running lights come standard on TRD and they have different headlights (tinted chrome) as opposed to Sr5.

Stereo is slightly different in the 09+ too.

 

in 09 the rear seats of the access cabs changed. you used to be able to flip back seats forward to form a level area. since 09 the seats fold up.
Doesnt bother me, but 08 and previous were a better design.
Also changed in 09 were the speakers. they got rid of the rear door speakers, and added speakers in the ceiling. again, the 08's and previous years were better.

The seats in my '09 AC have side airbags. SR5 Prerunner.

 

2010's have LED stop/tail lights.

 

Started in 2009.

 

I have an 09 TRD, and it has no DTRL

 

My 2010 SR5 PreRunner has
Side Airbags in the Seats
Back-up Camera
LED Taillights
And the other things mentioned that came with the '09.
Seeing as this is my first Tacoma I can't really comment on too much more than has changed

In 2009 and beyond, the iPod plug (Aux input) was added.

I think the traction control (called different names by different companies) is mandatory since 2009. That's why its a bit misleading when you see commercials like from Subaru where they claim traction control comes standard with all their vehicles! of course it does, so does all other car brands. Its like when air bags became mandatory, and I think ABS as well.

 

the steeringwheel controls would be pretty nice

 

Digging up this old thread. Needing to verify; a 2015 front fender body panel should still fit my 2005 fine, right? Despite the face lift

 

Yes, fenders are the same.
