    Are you going to have a kickstand or over-center mechanism to hold up the lid, or just rely on the gas struts?

    I'm relying one the gas struts and front hinge. The lid maybe weighs 40lbs so it's not heavy, so the struts just need to hold the lid up and keep the fabric tight.

    Yes! The cab over hang is 40". so the other half of the bed stores on top or under the that and slides out when you need it. The rail it sits on extends the whole length of the camper so you can slid all the way to the back and have a elevated seating area.
