Well for me and my current truck setup those types of obstacles might be a good place to start. At the moment I have very little offroad experience with a truck sized vehicle. I have plenty of 4wheeler and dirtbike experience but nothing the size of the taco. Is there some easy going get your feet wet sort of trails around tug hill?

I love the new shell. I think I want to get one eventually. Where did you get the shell from?

Infinite off-road in Macedon. I've been having leaking issues but it's not shell related it's the bed design. Seams like a common issue but I'll work it out.

Hoselton has a strict policy that, if they can't replicate the problem, they won't perform the TSB. In spite of the fact that I work there, I bought my truck there, and I showed them the TSB, they still refused to apply it. I ended up opening a case with Toyota corporate, after which they called me back in and supposedly did the TSB. When the Rev 1 TSB came out, I went to LeBrun, bypassing the service writers and talking directly with the service manager. His name is Phil, and kindly agreed to apply the TSB without any hassle.

Thank you for the feedback on Hoselton and how they handle the TSB's. When I had the original TSB for the shifting done back in September I really had to fight for them to apply it at LeBrun. I alos had them check my ATF level which they said was fine but honestly I wonder if they really checked it. How did you bypass the service writers? Also how has the REV1 TSB helped you out? When the truck is cold I tend to get a engine flare like the Tranny is slipping when I first set off but after that it is fine. After I had the first TSB done I felt like the truck was shifting great but after a bit it seemed to change back to what it was before. As many have said before I wish the truck ran closer to what it does when you have the ECT button pressed... I don't want to harp on the shifting as it hasn't been completely horrible but it is annoying at times.

I just went to the service writer's desk and insisted on speaking with the service manager. Of course, I was wearing my Hoselton hat and my Hoselton delivery truck was parked in view, so that may have freaked them out.

As to your other questions, having been in the IT industry for most of my career, I do believe in keeping firmware up-to-date. Although my tranny has behaved reasonably well, I still wanted to have the TSB done to eliminate variables if nothing else.

    Jim,

I have the off road wheels now and I just recently purchased some replacement aftermarket wheels. I'm close to putting the new ones on, I'm just trying to figure out what to do with my suspension but it should be soon if your interested.

Have any of you used the SnowSport Plow? If so, I'm wondering how the performance might be in the type of snow conditions we get around here. I'm thinking of getting one of these for next winter.

I haven't seen any Tacoma with one on it. It definitely would be nice to see if it works around here.

I've been looking for a local truck accessory shop that's willing to install customer-supplied parts. The few I've contacted install only accessories sold through them. Any suggestions? Beyond that, who have you done business with locally that you would recommend regardless.

    Thanks!

I've always done my own installs. Who have you contacted so far and what are you looking to have installed?
