I hear ya. I have to say I've been blessed. No one else in my family other than my brother has a musical ability.

OK fellas, I need some veteran LBL feedback. I know the OP said in the first post the trails were realatively stock friendly, but what does that mean. I have a 2016 dcsb SR 4wd. It's my first brand new truck and I would love to keep it that way(no scratches or dents). I should have my skids on by March but no sliders or lift as of yet. Running Cooper at3 265/75/17's. Please be honest and tell me if this trip is safe(for the truck) and do-able with my set up. I live in TN and would love to come meet y'all and do some wheeling. Thanks

You should be able to go most any place in the state park (had to use the snatch strap on a few folks last year), Turkey Bay not so much. In LBL they are mostly maintained fire roads, some are tighter with some thorny bushes, some small tree branches, etc. I would count on some scratches, how bad is up to you. Remember you can ride along with someone also

First 4wd was a '71 Ford F250 that was actually my dads....me being the only one that drove it. It was a rolling fuel tank on the farm. Farm trucks get tortured. The occasional scratch or dent on that truck never really stood out amongst the rest. First NEW 4wd I owned was a '78 jEEp CJ5. First trip into the woods was uneventful. 2nd resulted in sheet metal bending! (Slid back down a hill into a tree, smashed tail light, bent fender) Never really looked back after that. I try to avoid damage as best I can, but it is inevitable if you're doing anything other than driving up and down a dirt driveway. They're "character marks".....Gives the truck personality!

No serious damage to this Toyota (so far) but I do own a buffer.....:itllbuffout:

Irritates the hell out of a jEEp owner I know.

Wouldn't do it for just anyone!

He lurks on this site, but doesn't post. His heap of choice is a Cherokee XJ. Since day 1, I've referred to it as a Cheap Jerokee. Sent him a Christmas present.....a license plate that said jEEp.

Dragged his ass out of a muddy creek crossing after he tried going wheelin' by himself the day after he bought it. Never let up on him since.

after all, what are friends for!

No....We went to Dirty Turtle last spring. That's less than an hour from his house and he's still talking about how far I made him drive. He also can't get in a group of 2 or more people without demanding to be made King. A giant buzz kill. We also went to Badlands in August. The group that invited me asked me afterwards to leave him at home the next time I met up with them. He's a good guy, just an asshole to anyone he doesn't know.

This wouldn't be the first time he's heard me say what I had to say.

That's a thing about me. At this age, filters are turned off. I'll say what's on my mind. No sense in holding back.

Also...I invited this guy to Harlan back in October. He was almost ready to go when he dropped it on me that he had bought a tow bar and expected me to tow his raggedy ass XJ down and back so he "could save gas". No mention of contributing to MY gas fund.
