They had a couple in socal about a month back... not sure if they are still available. If you are dead set on an MT, no AT will do it for you. For me, its not up for discussion, MT Tacoma V6 or Id pick literally any other vehicle out there for a better price. If they still made the 4runner with a stick, that be my choice. FJ cruiser manual was awesome (but interior plastic sucked even compared to a yaris).

Hi folks, (posted on Jan. 23, 2017, around 3:45 PM PT)
I thought this would be the best thread to mention this. I just decided to wait for a TRD Pro in a *manual and give up the automatic I have on order, which is due in early Feb. I've put down a refundable deposit at Fremont Toyota (in the CA Bay Area) and just told them I want to pull out. The sales person was kinda irate telling me she lost some customers b/c I had my name on it, etc.

Anyways, if anyone has been waiting for one you can live with the accessories I ordered, call them and ask about it. They were going to sell it to me at MSRP. Hope this helps someone, I feel bad about having to pull out.

Model: Tacoma TRD Pro, Automatic $42,760
    Color: Cement
Accessories: All-weather floor liners/door sills $228, Mudguards $129, Paint protection film $395, Predator tube step $649, Spare tire lock $75, and Wheel locks $80
    Destination charge: $940

    Total MSRP: $45,256

    Build date: Jan. 20, 2017
    Due date: Feb. 10, 2017

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I will be happy with my decision, it's just the waiting that's driving me nuts. In the mean time, I have to drive 100 miles a day in my fiancee's 2005 mini cooper. Enough said, insert sad face here.

Hey also in the Bay Area and had AT coming in for me and wanting to switch to MT as well. How are you finding the MT? There are waiting lists galore and some dealerships are being sketchy telling me they can order one which goes against everything I hear about how they're allocated.

When we both have one should find some trails to hit!

For anyone in SoCal, there's a long waiting line for all manners of Pros, but most are for the ATs

I got deposits at 2 different dealers, in LA and SD, and I've been told that most of them have 5+ people waiting. Again mostly for ATs.

Well, I'm on "the list" at two different dealerships, one kinda local and the other in Orange County. My limited understanding is that dealerships get allocated some number of Pro's a few weeks prior to the build date, it's then up to the dealer POC to call anyone on that list.

My strategy is to just keep on asking my POC every week or so whether they've been allocated a MT snag it. I suspect this will take a couple months.

But honestly, who knows, I'm envious of folks who have been able to get what they actually want within a reasonable timeframe. I suppose this is a legit first world problem, so everyone should feel bad I had to give up my cement TRD Pro AT and wait for what I really want, woe is me.

Goldengate, definitely, when we get our MT rigs, let's sync up. (for the rest of you, you all may be witnessing the genesis of a true bromance)

More like the curse of the socal dealer thinking we all wanted the pro's in autos only. Right now they are literally salivating over every MT they get in because they can sell them without even trying. As in "Hello, how can I he..." "do you have an MT pro" "Yes, we have 1 in sto..." SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!

Well considering that most Tacomas sold are in AT, maybe we're in the minority? :notsure:

This is an enthusiast forum after all. Ain't no Bub and Bob types here asking how many Big Gulps can they fit inside all the while munching on 5 Big Macs. Those are questions for the salesmen.

You are right about the MTs doe. They sell faster than you can say "KO2s".

I am on my 4th tank of gas now and with each one, gas mpg has improved. I'd say I am averaging 17-18, getting 20 when doing highway trips.

eleveneleven - might not be a bromance if I settle for an AT ...we'll have to be transmission arch rivals. Might finally be able to give a solid verdict if AT or MT is better for hilly-traffic-congested bay area. I'll secretly resent you for rowing your own gears while I openly brag how I can sip my latte and text in stop and go.

    Good luck on your hunt!

Ordered my MT Cement Pro on 9/7. Was told it was extra delayed because of they were not spraying Cement for a month or some nonsense like that. The truck was built on 1/13 and I am expecting delivery on 2/1. That is quite a wait but VW has still NOT purchased my TDI back so I guess its all working out ok. Really looking forward to my new truck.
