All- thanks for the well wishes, thoughts and prayers. Docs think his bowels may have become a little twisted- causing the extreme pain and vomiting. Pain is under control, normal bowels. He is coming home today.

Or this. They used one similar on our first machine to set the yankee dryer in. 180 tons IIRC. On the next two machines they used two smaller ones. The transport permits on those big ones are outrageous.

That was just a google pic. Here's some others to give you an idea of the size of a yankee. The good news about Yankees is that none have exploded since the 90's.

Yes it is used with tissue and towel for the final drying process. It's pressurized with steam and is continuously spayed with a coating the paper sticks to. Paper travels around 3/4 of the rotation and gets creped off with a blade on the other side. This is what gives it the bulk and texture it has. Amazing process.

And to think, they let me work on the control systems for these. Lol. But the paper business in my field is very lucrative.

Nope. The stink comes from making the pulp. We don't have a pulp mill. It's made elsewhere and brought in by rail.

Yep. It's neat seeing them put it together. They use a small crane to do it.
