New member here and been shopping around for a Tacoma and hopefully I can get some help here.

I have a budget of no more than 20k and looking for a v6, 4dr, preferably long bed, 4x4 is not necessary.

I have found several good deals but most of the trucks have 80-140k miles on them, should I not worry about that? I read somewhere that Taco owners call those "Like New" trucks :)

Also, I like to lift my trucks so any issues with the different generation trucks or are they all pretty much straight forward?

Regarding lifts for any year Tacoma is pretty straightforward. No known issues with geometrical integrity of lift components.

What year are you looking for? Tacomas start with the 1st generation from 95-04, which are categorized into 3 different "face lifts" 95.5-97, 98-00, and the more modern look of the 01-04. 2nd gen tacomas go from 05-15, also face lifted from 12-15. And looks like 3rd gen is out of your budget.

Any of these trucks, depending where you live have known rust issues with the frame so be sure to thoroughly look for any cracks, holes, discoloration, and even coating.

Any year of these trucks will go the distance and live to their demand, 80k miles is pretty much "not even broken in yet". When it comes to any other issues they are going to depend on what generation/year Tacoma you end up getting.

That actually looks pretty good. So you're in the Houston area? Rust won't be much of a problem then but be sure to check the underbody anyways.

Now we could get into the packages depending on what amenities you're looking for. That one is a TRD sport, keep in mind that the TRD off road comes with a rear locker and some other off road aids which can be good especially for a 2wd truck or if you're launching a boat - those you won't find in a sport.

Other offers I'm not as familiar with on 2nd gens but if there's something specific you're looking for I'm sure someone can help you with.

I would'nt "may go look at it"
You should jump on that one. When I was shopping for my truck back in August that one would have been in the $20-$25k range.

Yeah always remember that someone else is probably looking at the same truck and chances are if you don't cop it someone else will. But also there's always deals out there so if you don't get the one you wanted there'll be another one out there.

Not 4x4, has a 6" lift and has the long bed which I really decided I wanted after all because I know I would regret it first trip to Home Depot if I get a short bed. If all goes well i'll post more pics up and join the Tacoma family.
