Got a delivery text for the leaf!

But i don't see it, pretty sure that was the delivery text from yesterday since i didn't get one... Right on time.

Update, they gave me a second tracking number that i was never given, but it's for the same shipment. That one is in transit... With no delivery date. but has the same info otherwise... Two items, etc.

Shot some out on the western slope on a DOW maintained shooting area on top of a mesa. Small quantities (proper mixture from factory) made the locals look, but otherwise was OK. Mixing an entire bottle got a visit from the local LEO just seeing what we were up to. I think we scared the locals and they called it in. LEO was cool, chatted about rifles and stuff, just wanted to make sure we were being safe. No permits. Bought the bottles off the shelf at a sporting goods store in Grand Junction. It wasn't Tannerite brand, but same stuff. Place we were shooting had a sign that said explosive targets were allowed.

Definitely make the call if there's nothing posted specifically saying it's ok, and be prepaired for a visit anyway because the neighbors get spooked when the world goes boom.

Doesn't someone in here know one of the Tear Drop trailer builders here in Denver? Someone in my Fly Fishing club wants to get one and were looking at builder in Indiana.

Any info I could pass along would be greatly appreciated

There's a DOW range fairly close by to me where all sorts of interesting activities transpire.... I don't think I've seen someone shooting Tannerite though.

That being said, I know of endless amounts of BLM land up here in the high desert where you could shoot Tannerite all day long and no one would give a shit. @Flboarder

Going back a bit, but do you happen to have measurements of the rack? I'm looking at making one for myself based on a prinsu, but am stuck in the office at work most of every day currently.

Yeah our DOW does not "recommend or endorse shooting at items that blow up" but they don't ban it either. Nebraska DOW followed suite with the USFS and banned it.

It really does depend on where you are. Some agencies/areas don't care, some do. I saw a few posts from people who'd gotten tickets on FS land, and up here it had a fair bit of media attention with Pawnee when they banned 'exploding targets'. It also helps if you have LEO with you (like not on duty, just present) because privileges. I've a friend in GJ who had the opportunity to go shoot some full auto with an LEO in-law.

What's interesting is that the compound is clearly an explosive, and if you read the regs (https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/ops/RegulationsStatutes) all explosives require a permit except ag use/fireworks/ammunition. As mentioned and one might expect, it seems like quantity plays a role.

You're right, I misspoke earlier. USFS did outright ban all exploding targets: https://www.fs.fed.us/visit/know-before-you-go/shooting (first bullet point, plenty of links about it in searches and news). However the BLM has at the moment only proposed such a ban... I think. Rules were posted back in October that were open to public comment until December 4th at https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...plementary-rules-for-public-lands-in-Colorado However as with a lot of things, before any system-wide rules that may or may not be in effect right now, individual units may have their own bans and such, be it specific places and/or times or blanket coverage. It's kind of interesting that the BLM main page says "you must not possess or discharge a firearm or explosive device in violation of any Colorado State Law" which goes back to that whole state law/permit/is it an explosive thing.

BUT, all that aside, as I said above, even if it isn't legal or is banned or whatever, not everywhere is going to care or enforce it. Your best bet is to research the specific place you want to go beforehand, because the tickets aren't cheap.
