Just wanted to share. I purchased my Tacoma about a month ago. I took it for a spin and noticed that the car would rev up real high when in neutral or park, around 2000 RPMs. The seller said it was normal so didn't think nothing of it.

A week goes by and can't get the thought out of my head that there was something wrong with it. That can't be normal. I read on a thread somewhere that the idle valve would have something to do with it. I had my buddy who is decent at fixing cars to test it. He said something about resistance and that I needed a new one. Went to the autoparts store and got it.

That pretty much solved the problem.

Nice work man. Some have luck cleaning the IAC and others, as you found out, aren't as lucky and need to replace it. Thanks for posting the symptoms up and the fix.
