    The single AAL engages immediately with the stock leaf pak while the 3 leaf progressive springs will engage after the stock pak has done their thing. Does this make sense? From my understanding, the progressive springs used in conjunction with an overload spring will be better for heavier weights when hauling/towing. The next step after that would be the full Dakar springs.

    Yeah, it's not necessarily bad to put bigger tires on stock wheels. You will definitely get rubbing due to the backspacing of the stock wheel. You will definitely need to run spacers if you plan on reusing the stock wheels with bigger tires.

    Yeah I may do a different rear setup in the future. But in the meantime hopefully this works out well. What is the difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen 5100, I can't imagine anyone would want to go 2nd gen considering that the 3rd gen sits higher from the factory than the 2nd gen did.

    Here ya go. The 3rd gen overall length is longer but for some reason the travel is just shy of a 1/2" less.

    So basically if you're going with just the shocks the 2nd gen is the better option but it doesn't necessarily matter if you're getting different coils. I wonder what kind of lift I could see raising the shocks with my 888 coils

    It will look great, I've got the same setup on my '16. The AAL gave me some "struggle", however it was my first time doing a leaf spring install.

    * no, no driver side spacer or any "Taco Lean".

    The top shocks are the 2nd gen. Even though differences are around a 1/2" that's still a significant amount of lift.

    I didn't have them alter the shock.. So mine is set at 0. Wonder what that will wind up yielding me

    Nice looking parts. What does headstrong recommend to correct the disrupted steering and driveline geometry after the lift is done? I am pretty sure a front end alignment will not be enough. I am curious what they recommend as I know they have a strong reputation here. @HeadStrong Off-Road

    Depends on what your front set up is. Most guys running aftermarket coils like king 650 or 700 haven't had that issue. Depends on your front end adds/mods etc. creeping on 38k/27months and no lean measurements are 23.75 d/p and both are showing same thread values on the shock body. But I did change out my radiator bushings to energy suspension bushing which might have something to do with the visual out come.

    I still scratch my head, after 3 generations of Tacomas, why Toyota still hasn't fixed this issue. It's mainly due to the left side being heavier. Gas tank is on the driver side, as well as the driver (duh), battery, etc. Eventually all that plays into the "Taco Lean".
