What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Picked up a UWS black slimline with keys for $75 on CL last night, a little scratched up but is perfect for what I was needing!

 

How boring is that?

I tend to like mine working as well. But a little repair and diagnosis usually promises fun as well.

 

I just like making sure everyone gets to experience a trail repair........

I work on my truck all spring so I don't have to during wheeling season.

It not a trail repair when it has to be towed off the trail.

So it's best to start simple with these things... Have you smoke tested your intake tract yet? Easy way to see if there's a place pirate air could be entering.

Sounds like you're on the right track then, fuel pump could be going faulty. Have you tried using a scan tool with Mode 6 so you can see live o2 data?

How are you guys mounting your brackets? Riv nets or nut serts I guess? Do they come with the relentless brackets?

 

I'm going to get Ben's is mounted with self tapping screws, although rivnuts are ideal

 

I would either rig up a test light to the ground side of the fuel pump circuit so you can see when there is continuity and by intensity if there is poor continuity. Or hook up a fuel pressure gauge so that you can watch it while you're driving and see if it is dropping during load
