I was at the dealer today and they had a 2014 tundra SR5 with Trd off road package 34k miles one owner truck really nice truck. I can pretty much trade even for my Tacoma off road with tech package 4K miles. Only thing that I don't like with the tundra is on the test drive it was only showing 12 mpg!!! What would you guys do?

5.7L I had in my 2007 got an average of 14.9mpg with stock sized tires... They are not fuel sippers.

I averaged 13.5 mpg in my Tundra for the same driving I get 19.5mpg in my Tacoma.

If you need a bigger truck.. go for it!! I personally no longer needed a full-size and I am enjoying my Tacoma plenty!

Yea if it would get around 16 I could live with it. My Tacoma only gets around 19 on average. That tundra had a ton of room.

I loved my 2007 Limited Tundra 5.7L. That said, the Tacoma is a better fit for me size-wise. Do you tow a lot or need the payload/bedsize of the Tundra? If so, you won't go wrong. If not, you'll regret the fuel mileage hit trading from the Tacoma.

Yea that's the thing I don't really need the towing or the size anymore. But this transmission deal in the Tacoma is really getting old to me. And it doesn't look like it's gonna get much better. I like the Tacoma other than the power train.

I was in the same situation this weekend. I ended up driving home in a new Tacoma. Tundras are awesome love the space. But I drive 50 miles round trip a day for work. I wouldn't be able to afford the gas.

Yea that's were I am I don't want to take the hit on the gas mileage. They aren't giving me but 33k for my truck either I think that's a little low. It stickered for 40,500 when I bought it.

If I was willing to trade (take the hit) in my Turdgen today I'd head to a local chevy dealer and get a brand new Silverado LTZ 4x4 with the 6.2L engine. Power for days, excellent shifting, all of the latest tech and gadgetry, interior design as nice and comfortable as they come. Fuel economy near or as good as the Tacoma and much better than a Tundra. If they update the Tundra I might consider one but right now I feel like they're outdated on the interior and powertrain (though it is proven and reliable).

Traded my 14 Tundra CrewMax 4x4 5.7 MPG beast for a 2017 TRD OR, for 90% of the driving I do the Tacoma is a much better fit. For the 10% or less time that I'm pulling a trailer is the only time I miss the Tundra. If you tow quite often or haul multiple adult bodies on a very regular schedule go full size.

I did the same. This guy is hitting the nail on the head. 2014 tundra crewmax for a 2016 Tacoma 4x4 off-road. Great for the driving. The other 10 times a year I pull a trailer. I miss it. That's it. Picture was at the Toyota dealer throwing my stuff in the new taco.

Yea I think I will keep the Tacoma for now and hope they figure this transmission out one day.

I bought a Tacoma because I wanted a Tacoma, so if you were asking me I would say keep the Tacoma...

SR5 TRD o_O Arn't those two different models? Make sure it doesn't just have a TRD sticker on it.
