My MPG and engine load would be utter garbage with 3.58s and an auto.

That's good for a Tacoma from what I've seen, not great for literally any other vehicle. I was surprised watching my Dad's Escalade pull our trailer up a 7% grade at 1800RPM at 65MPH

That's a less common gearset, its existence has been sparse up until the 3rd gen Tacos which seem to all come with it if you get a manual. I have a set of 4.30s for my truck but I haven't put them in, still riding on my 3.58s

Some 4Runners had them too but they use a different rearend. 4.10s are the most common of the gearsets with 4.56s being second

On a 4x4 truck all the gear oils are the same. Try to keep it synthetic.

No... also read ECGS's webpage to find out why synth oils in gearsets that don't reach high temps or have a chance of getting wet are a bad idea.

Usually when I run across a 4.30 gearset it is one for the locker rearend, I really have zero idea why it wasn't a more common ratio. Toyota used it so infrequently on 1st gens that you can't hardly even find a replacement set of gears in the same ratio.

I say color match the grille. It'll further complement whatever wheels you decide to get.

Nah, scored a TRD tip and didn't want to weld it on the old piece of shit rusted, pitted exhaust pipe running from the muffler. So I had a shop chop it off; weld a new pipe on and weld the new TRD tip on.

I didn't want a magnaflow. Had them on most of my sports cars and like the OEM sound just fine. They did a great job, $120.
